As the year 2020 ended, we saw interesting trends in the wellness app category on the iOS platform in Latin America. Here's a brief overview of how the top apps performed in the fourth quarter, with data courtesy of Sensor Tower.
Calm experienced a decrease in downloads, starting the quarter with around 43K and ending with approximately 33K. Weekly active users also showed a declining trend from 200K in late September to 198K by the end of December, with revenue exhibiting a slight downtrend from 38K USD to 28K USD.
Meditopia: AI, Meditation saw a fluctuation in downloads, peaking at 28K in early October and then dropping to around 23K by the year's end. Active users decreased slightly from 202K to 165K over the quarter. Revenue for Meditopia remained relatively stable, with a slight increase to 33K USD in the final week of December.
Yana: Your emotional companion had a rollercoaster quarter. The downloads spiked to 35K in late October, then fell, and rose again to 21K in late December. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, with a significant peak of 43K in mid-October before settling to around 24K at the close of the quarter.
Gympass maintained a consistent level of weekly active users, starting at 102K and ending the quarter at a similar level. Downloads for Gympass, however, saw a gradual decrease from 7K to 4K by the end of December.
Finally, Productive - Habit Tracker showed a decrease in both downloads and active users throughout the quarter. Starting with 7K downloads and 37K active users, the app ended the quarter with around 7K downloads and 32K active users, while revenue saw a slight increase to 3K USD in the last week of December.
